God has made this Jesus, both Lord and Christ

Acts 2:22-41, Key Verse 36

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

  1. What did Peter explain about Jesus to the crowd? (22-24) Why did Peter remind the people of Jerusalem about this? From what point of view did Peter see this event? (23) What did God do for Jesus? (24)

  2. Why did Peter quote from King David regarding who Jesus is? (25) Who was King David? (Acts 13:21-23) 1000 years prior to the coming of Jesus Christ what did King David see? (25) How does David’s prophecy relate to the Risen Christ? (27) How does verse 27 give us hope for this life in Christ? (27-28

  3. Even though King David died long ago, how did the people regard his words? (29-30) What had King David seen ahead and spoken of? (31a) What were all the disciples witnesses to? (32-33) If King David was considered a prophet by all the people even though he died, how should we consider Jesus? (34-36) What does it mean that Jesus is “Lord and Christ?” (36)

  4. How did all the listeners to Peter’s preaching react? (37) What does it mean to be cut to the heart? Why were they cut to the heart? What was Peter’s command to them? (38) Was this command only for the people listening to Peter? (39) What happened to those who repented that day? (40-41) Why did the church grown by 3,000 people that day?
